Mom of 3, Author Releases 2nd Book Series That Celebrates Black Love and Sisterhood

Nationwide — Author Lauren Lacey releases her vacation romance series Black Summer Island, a heartfelt celebration of Black love and sisterhood amongst black women. With a backdrop as fascinating as the Caribbean paradise it’s set in, this series promises to be a fun, romantic, and captivating journey.

Black Summer Island is a series of three novellas centered on the adventures of three best friends and remarkable Black women who leave their daily routines behind for a beautiful paradise where love awaits. From the workaholic Evie Summers in The Break She Needed finding unexpected love to the wild-at-heart Marlowe Blackwood in The Family She Found discovering a deep connection, and the widowed Vivian St. Claire in The Forever She Deserves getting a second chance at love, this series will absolutely melt your heart.

Lacey shares, “We deserve to be loved, and these stories paint a vivid picture of healthy Black love and the incredible bond of sisterhood and found family. My aim was to craft narratives that resonate, entertain, and uplift—reflecting the beauty of Blackness in every form. This series is my heartfelt tribute to the resilience, strength, and undeniable spirit of Black women and the amazing Black men who love us.”

Lacey’s goal is to inspire and touch readers’ hearts, and her Black Summer Island series stands as a positive representation of healthy black love.
