Ryan Clark has one word to describe Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton – thug.
Clark was on ESPN’s “Get Up” when Russell Wilson‘s situation in Denver was described on the show. It’s been reported Wilson will not be with the Broncos after this season. Instead of pointing the finger at Wilson, Clark is looking at Payton for the team’s 7-8 record.“The business of it is not a problem to me,” Clark said, “but let’s be honest: Sean Payton has behaved as a thug since he became the coach of the Denver Broncos.
“Immediately when he gets in the building, he starts to undercut Russell Wilson personally and professionally from his first press conference on. He tells Russell Wilson, ‘You have to stop kissing babies. Stop behaving as if you’re running for office.’”Clark then pointed out the hypocrisy with Payton’s former quarterback, Drew Brees.
“Nobody kissed more babies in New Orleans than Drew Brees,” Clark said. “Period, point, blank. From the beginning; he walked into this building and he had a point to prove when it came to Russell Wilson. ‘You’re just going to be like everybody else. I’m going to treat you just like I treat everyone else on the team.’ That’s not the way it works with franchise quarterbacks. With a franchise quarterback, they’re talked to differently. There are conversations, instead of being talked at.”

“I don’t believe there was a thing Russell Wilson could do to make Sean Payton like him,” he said.
In the Broncos’ 42-17 loss to the Detroit Lions on Dec. 16, Payton is shown on TV yelling at Wilson on the sidelines.
Looking back at this now, it’s crazy that Russell Wilson kept quiet for as long as he did.
Sean Payton was probably calling plays to lose.
Remember when we were wondering why Payton didn’t challenge twice?

Amid all the reports and drama, Wilson responded during a recent media availability. He said the front office approached him during the by-week to adjust his contract or he would be benched. Wilson said he was disappointed in the way the franchise went about the situation and that he wanted to remain in Denver.
Asked Russell Wilson if he wanted to talk. He agreed. He was very candid about his disappointment about #Broncos approaching him about adjusting contract during bye week. He said he still would like to stay in Denver. #Denver7 pic.twitter.com/44ePUYqmHf
