Meghan Markle Delays Netflix Show Premiere Amid California Wildfires, Focuses on Relief Efforts

Nationwide — Meghan Markle has delayed the January 15 premiere of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, to March 4, citing the ongoing California wildfires. The Duchess of Sussex, originally from Los Angeles, made the decision to prioritize helping wildfire victims over her show’s release.

Three days before the planned launch, Meghan announced the postponement and expressed gratitude to Netflix for supporting the move.

“I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” she said in a statement on January 12, according to People.

The Duchess of Sussex, who lives in Montecito with her husband, Prince Harry, and their children, spent January 10 volunteering with World Central Kitchen in Pasadena, distributing food and supplies to those impacted by the Eaton Fire. They also opened their Montecito home to friends and families who were forced to evacuate.

In a statement on their website, the couple acknowledged the devastation caused by the wildfires and shared resources to help relief efforts. They urged people to donate essential items, including clothing and children’s toys, for affected families.

The Netflix series With Love, Meghan was filmed in Montecito and celebrates Southern California’s charm. Across eight episodes, Meghan explores her passions for cooking, crafting, and entertaining, inviting friends like Roy Choi, Mindy Kaling, and Alice Waters to join her. The show focuses on how small details can bring people together and add beauty to everyday life.
