Juneteenth events in the DMV: NBA 2K tournament, concerts, and more

Looking for somewhere to take the kids? Check out the NBA 2K League tournament happening at District E this Thursday! Expect a loud, and exciting atmosphere. If you like the real thing, go out for a Mystics vs Sky game featuring the Sky’s DMV-born star rookie, Angel Reese.

Go celebrate Juneteenth in the nation’s capital at the third-annual Juneteenth Freedom Fest. It will be active with food, entertainment and a live performance from R&B legend Musiq Soulchild!

Want to be active for the holiday? The Juneteenth Bar Crawl takes place on H street in NE. Receive your wristband and map at District Alley, then get ready to CRAWL to Lydia followed by Focus Lounge!

Come celebrate the kickoff of Montgomery County’s premiere Black cultural event, the Scotland Juneteenth Heritage Festival. There will be a live performance by D.C.’s iconic Chuck Brown Band!

If you like food, music and drinks, prepare to attend the ASCF Juneteenth & Father’s Day Jazz Brunch. Enjoy yourself while knowing all proceeds will go towards scholarships for deserving high school students in Montgomery County, MD.

Go check out some good hoops featuring Chicago Sky rookie, Angel Reese. The first 1,500 fans will also receive a free camouflage bucket hat!

Third Annual Juneteenth Freedom Fest!

This event will bring together members of Congress, celebrities, and community leaders to celebrate Juneteenth in the nation’s capital. Come celebrate and honor the next generation of Black scholars as scholarships are awarded to students attending HBCUs. The event will have food, entertainment, and includes a special performance by Musiq Soulchild!

Saturday, June 15

Juneteenth Bar Crawl

Come out and experience an amazing day filled with BLACK Food, Music, Vendors, and Vibes! Receive your wristband and map at District Alley, then get ready to CRAWL to Lydia followed by Focus Lounge.

Scotland Juneteenth Heritage Festival Opening Night Celebration

Come celebrate the VIP kickoff of Montgomery County’s premiere Black cultural event! Festivities include a dance contest and a best-dressed contest, followed by a live performance from The Chuck Brown Band!

ASCF Juneteenth & Father’s Day Jazz Brunch

8:30 a.m. | $100+

End the weekend with great music, a scrumptious brunch buffet and a fully-stocked cash bar. All proceeds from this event will go to scholarship opportunities for deserving high-school students in Montgomery County, Maryland.
