Jamie Foxx Recovering After Glass Thrown at His Face During Restaurant Altercation

Nationwide — Jamie Foxx, who recently turned 57 years old, was celebrating his birthday when an altercation at a Beverly Hills restaurant left him needing stitches. A glass thrown from another table allegedly hit the actor in the mouth.

The incident occurred at Mr. Chow, a popular Chinese restaurant in Beverly Hills, around 10:10 p.m., according to CBS News. Police responded to reports of an assault but later clarified that the glass-throwing incident wasn’t considered a deadly weapon assault.

Foxx’s representative confirmed he was at the restaurant for a birthday celebration, but police did not specify his involvement. No details were provided about what sparked the altercation. The situation is now under investigation by law enforcement, and it’s unclear if anyone has been arrested.

Foxx, known for roles in Django Unchained and Ray, required stitches after the incident and is now recovering.

This incident follows Foxx’s recent Netflix special, where he shared details about his health scare from last year. Foxx has since expressed gratitude to his supporters on social media, sharing a message about staying positive despite challenges.

“The devil is busy… but I’m too blessed to be stressed,” he wrote on Instagram. “The devil is a lie. Can’t win here… thank you to everybody that pray and check on me… when your light is shining bright… they try to bring you darkness … but they don’t know that you’re built for it… the lights have been shining bright…”
