Founder of Black-Owned Social Media Platform on Track to Soon Have 100,000 Users

Nationwide — Ernest L. Manning, founder and CEO of WeKinFolk, a Black social media platform that began its journey in November 2020, says that he is well on his way to getting almost 100,000 users by the end of the year.

In an era where social media giants dominate the landscape, his platform has managed to carve out a thriving community, entirely defying the odds. WeKinFolk continues to flourish without outside investment or major backing. As it approaches its four-year anniversary, this 100% black owned and operated platform stands as a testament to the power of community, cultural pride, and authentic connection.

While other platforms focus on competing for user attention, WeKinFolk has always been about something different—building bridges. Its members aren’t just users; they are part of a close-knit community that values the safe, supportive space we’ve created for expressing their love for the culture. This commitment to cultural expression and community communication has made WeKinFolk a haven for those who seek to connect on a deeper level, away from the noise of larger, impersonal networks.

Despite the challenges of operating independently in a highly competitive industry, WeKinFolk continues to thrive, driven by the passion and dedication of its founder and loyal members. The platform has grown organically, without the financial backing that fuels many of our competitors. But as we look to the future, we recognize the need to expand our reach and bring more people into this vibrant community.

Ernest comments, “We are excited to announce our latest initiative to create an advertising mega platform within WeKinFolk, designed to connect our unique member base with companies that offer goods and services tailored to their needs. By fostering these partnerships, we aim to provide our members with even more value, while also supporting the platform’s continued growth.”

He continues, “However, we cannot do it alone. As we approach our four-year milestone, we are reaching out to those who share our vision of a positive, culturally rich social space. We invite celebrities, influencers, and anyone who believes in the importance of community to lend their voice to our cause. A brief shout-out from a well-known figure could make all the difference in helping us spread the word about WeKinFolk.”

Empathy and support have always been at the heart of the platform, and now Ernest and his team are asking for a little of that in return. He says that together the community can work to ensure that WeKinFolk continues to thrive as a beacon of cultural pride and community love in an ever-expanding digital world.
