Black Financial Literacy Foundation Kicks Off Annual Book Drive Donating More Than 2,500 Books to Children Nationwide

Nationwide — The Global Children Financial Literacy Foundation (GCFLF) is excited to announce the launch of their annual Wesley Learns Book Drive, with the goal of donating 2,500 books from their acclaimed children’s financial literacy series, Wesley Learns, and creating 25 first-time shareholders in five cities: Denver, Atlanta, New York City, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C.

In alignment with Financial Literacy Month in April 2025, GCFLF will begin book donations and stock presentations to first-time shareholders in each city. This year, the foundation aims to collaborate with local city government officials to organize citywide efforts, ensuring that financial literacy is promoted and celebrated on a local level.

GCFLF Co-Founder Chadrick Davis expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “This is the 3rd year of our book drive, and we’re extremely excited to once again donate books from our children’s financial literacy book series and create first-time shareholders across the country.” He added, “Our hope is to work with local city government offices for this year’s book drive to highlight the importance of financial literacy in each city.”

The Wesley Learns series was co-created by Navy Veteran Prince Dykes, based on his personal experiences with his son, Wesley. Dykes, who is also a Co-Founder of GCFLF, explained his motivation: “I wanted to change the legacy of financial illiteracy in my family and ensure that I passed on the financial knowledge I’ve gained over the years to my son at an early age. This knowledge will equip Wesley, and other children like him, with the tools they need to face the financial challenges of adulthood.”

For this year’s Wesley Learns Book Drive campaign, GCFLF is accepting individual donations through their website. Individuals interested in contributing can also reach out via email at info@gcflf.org for more information on how to support the initiative. In addition, the foundation is actively seeking corporate sponsors and donations for each of the five participating cities.
