Ben Affleck Explains Why He and Jennifer Lopez Divorced After Two Years

Nationwide — Actor Ben Affleck is finally speaking out about his split from singer/actress Jennifer Lopez, clarifying that their breakup was due to personal differences and not scandal or controversy. He emphasized that their decision to end their two-year marriage was mutual and aimed at prioritizing their individual happiness.

“There’s no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue,” Affleck told GQ. “It’s just a story about people trying to figure out their lives and relationships in ways that we all sort of normally do.”

One major challenge in their relationship was their different approaches to fame and privacy. Affleck, 51, prefers a more private life, while Lopez, 54, thrives in the public eye. “My temperament is to be a little bit more reserved and private than hers. As happens in relationships, you don’t always have the same attitude towards these things,” Affleck admitted.

Despite this, Affleck made it clear that love was never the issue. He expressed deep respect for Lopez, acknowledging that understanding their individual needs was necessary for their happiness.

Lopez has also spoken about the split in a recent interview, expressing sadness but acceptance. “It was hard, but sometimes love isn’t enough. You have to know when to let go,” she shared.

Although their marriage ended, both Affleck and Lopez continue to appreciate the time they shared and the respect they have for each other.
