13-Year-Old Black Teen From Atlanta Accepted into More Than 20 Colleges

Nationwide — Joshua Suddith, a 13-year-old African American boy attending high school in the  Atlanta, Georgia area, has already been accepted into over 20 colleges. His academic excellence is evident, with 27 credit hours already completed at Augusta Technical College, where he maintains a 3.88 GPA.

At a young age, Suddith’s talents were clear. By age 3, he wrote a children’s book, and by 7, he was part of Duke University’s talent program. Now, as a dual enrollment student at Augusta Technical College, he continues to impress with his academic achievements while enjoying activities like basketball and playing the piano.

“I am driven by a passion for learning and making a positive impact in the world,” Suddith said in a statement, according to Atlanta News First. “Whether it’s excelling in academics, building robots, creating art through music, playing basketball or inspiring others through leadership and ministry, I am committed to growing and improving.”

His parents, Chaundra and Joshua, expressed pride in his journey. “He has overcome many challenges,” they said. “His grit and resilience speaks for itself. He didn’t let those challenges get in the way of his dream.”

Among his many college options, Suddith’s top choice is Morehouse College, an HBCU in Atlanta. He also has outstanding applications to attend prestigious institutions such as Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Emory, and Georgia Tech.
